Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Stanzeo, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

These Terms constitute a contract between you and WeSDeC BV (VAT: BE0684.650.348), a company incorporated in Belgium, operating Stanzeo at stanzeo.com.

2. What Stanzeo does

Stanzeo is an AI-powered platform for professional speakers, academics, and researchers to build and structure presentations as narrative compositions. It provides tools for talk structure management, AI-assisted content generation, and export to presentation formats.

3. Account registration

• You must provide an accurate email address and keep your account credentials secure.
• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• One person per account. Sharing credentials is not permitted (Team plan provides multi-seat access).
• Notify us immediately at legal@stanzeo.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

4. AI features and transparency

Stanzeo uses the Anthropic Claude API to power AI features including card generation, critique, and text suggestions.

• When you use AI features, the text of your cards and relevant context is transmitted to Anthropic's servers for processing.
• You own the AI-generated output included in your talks. WeSDeC BV claims no ownership over content you create using Stanzeo.
• AI-generated content is provided as suggestions. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving any AI output before professional use.
• AI generation is subject to your plan's AI Credits quota (see Section 6).

5. Your content

• You retain full ownership of all talks, cards, and content you create in Stanzeo.
• By using the service, you grant WeSDeC BV a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display your content solely as necessary to operate the service for you.
• This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account.
• You are responsible for ensuring your content does not infringe third-party intellectual property rights or violate applicable law.

6. AI Credits and usage limits

AI features consume AI Credits. Your monthly quota depends on your plan:

1 Credit ≈ €0.01 of AI processing cost. Quotas reset on the first day of each calendar month. When your quota is reached, AI features are paused until the next reset. Your existing content and talks are never deleted or affected by quota limits.

7. Subscriptions and billing

Billing

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance via Stripe.

Auto-renewal

Plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You can cancel at any time from your account settings.

Cancellation

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain access to paid features until that date. We do not issue partial-month refunds.

Pricing

Prices are listed in EUR exclusive of VAT. Belgian VAT (21%) applies to Belgian customers. For other EU customers, VAT is applied according to the EU VAT place-of-supply rules.

Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

Under Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights, you have the right to withdraw from a subscription contract within 14 days of purchase without giving a reason. However, by clicking "Subscribe" and immediately using paid features, you expressly request that the service begin before the 14-day withdrawal period expires. You acknowledge that this waives your right of withdrawal once the service has begun, in accordance with Art. 16(m) of the Directive.

8. Acceptable use

You may not use Stanzeo to:

• Generate, store, or distribute content that is illegal under Belgian or EU law
• Infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or circumvent any part of the platform
• Circumvent AI Credits limits by creating multiple accounts
• Use the service in a way that degrades performance for other users
• Impersonate any person or entity

9. Service availability

We aim to keep Stanzeo available and maintain your data securely. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance will be announced with reasonable notice. Free plan users have no uptime guarantee. We will respond to emergency incidents as promptly as possible.

10. Intellectual property

The Stanzeo name, brand, logo, and platform software are the exclusive property of WeSDeC BV. These Terms do not grant you any licence to use our trademarks, brand assets, or platform code outside of normal use of the service.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is." AI-generated content is provided as suggestions without warranty of accuracy, fitness for purpose, or completeness. WeSDeC BV makes no guarantee that AI output is factually correct, original, or suitable for any particular professional use. You use AI-generated content at your own discretion and risk.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Belgian law, WeSDeC BV's total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or use of the service shall not exceed the total amount you paid to WeSDeC BV in the 12 months preceding the claim.

WeSDeC BV is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including loss of data, revenue, or business opportunity).

Belgian mandatory consumer protections are not limited by this clause.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Antwerp, Belgium.

EU consumers retain the right to bring proceedings in their country of habitual residence under mandatory local consumer protection law.

14. Changes to these Terms

We will notify you by email at least 30 days before any material changes to these Terms take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Continued use of Stanzeo after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Termination

By you: You may delete your account at any time from User Settings. Your content is deleted per the Privacy Policy retention schedule.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially violate these Terms. For serious violations (illegal content, security threats), suspension may be immediate and without prior notice.
